Makole Mupita CA(SA) has over 20 years of private equity, infrastructure finance and corporate finance experience. She is Co-Founder and Director of Mahlako since 2008 and permeates to her team, investment expertise gained through spending over 10 years working in the private equity and infrastructure finance within the financial services sector. She was a Portfolio Manager for the Infrastructure & Development Assets (IDEAS) Fund at Old Mutual for six years where she was involved in the management of a ZAR2 billion Infrastructure Fund. She studied at Wits University and the University of Natal and trained with Investec Bank where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant outside public practice.

Makole has been involved in diverse Public Private Partnership transactions, several, landmark transaction for South Africa, including the DTI Building; the first accommodation PPP; the DoE building; Bloemfontein Prison - one of the only 2 privately owned prisons in the country; Neotel - Second Network Operator.

Makole was the Deputy President of the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) Western Cape 2004, she chairs the Audit committee of Wiphold, serves on Solar Capital De Aar 1 & 3 board and of Lesedi Nuclear Services. Makole is also a founder, member, and director of the Black Energy Professionals Association.

Meta Mhlarhi CA(SA) has over 18 years of industry and finance experience advising both corporate and public-sector clients. She is Co - Founder and Director of Mahlako, since 2008 and permeates to her team, her expertise in restructuring businesses; sourcing, managing and evaluating investments and capital raising.

Meta commenced her career and completed her articles at Deloitte, where she worked in the Entrepreneurial Services and Accounting and Auditing Technical divisions, before joining Investec Bank’s Corporate Finance division. In addition to her banking experience, Meta has been involved in establishing various projects in energy and other sectors.

Meta has extensive governance and management experience and has served and chaired on numerous boards and audit committees, she currently serves on the board of AON South Africa, is also a co-founder and the current chairperson of the Black Energy Professionals Association. Meta was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year (2018) by AWCA, a Woman of Fortitude certificate (2018) by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Centenary of President Nelson Mandela and Albertina Sisulu. She was also a panellist at the Inaugural SA Investment Conference (2018).

Kgabang Moloedi started her career at Coronation Fund Managers, working in the client services department. She was assigned to deal with any queries ranging from internal investment process to portfolio composition.

She moved to HSBC bank in the global banking division. She was part of the team that was responsible for maintaining a relationship with Naspers, Steinhoff, Distell and other companies with international footprint.

Kgabang then joined the Public investment Corporation as a graduate in the Private Equity division where her role was to screen investment opportunities against the fund mandate and preparing internal and external Investment Committee documents.

Kgabang participated in the graduate program at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) in the Private Equity division for two years where she got exposed to varies deals in South Africa and the rest of Africa. The private equity team was sector agnostic which exposed her to transactions in many sectors.

Kgabang also participated in a 3-week training program at Goldman Sachs in New York which exposed her to the international market. She recently joined Mahlako as an Investment Analyst in the energy fund.

Kaluba Chipulu CA(SA) is a qualified chartered accountant with over seven years of professional experience. He has extensive experience in Corporate and Project Finance gained through his roles at Mahlako, Telesure Investment Holdings and SNG Grant Thornton. In these roles Kaluba has being involved in the development of a number of projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as advised clients within the public and private sector on a various of transactions across a number of industries.

Kaluba has core experience in PPP’s, project identification, project preparation and development, carrying out pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, financial modelling, capital raising and various other facets of the investment value chain within private equity and infrastructure. He also has experience in strategy formulation outside of the investment sphere, where he has worked on the formulation of both organic and inorganic growth strategies within the financial services industry.

Kaluba is a skilled project manager with a focus on cost and schedule control.

Tanaka Chihota is a BSc (Hons) Construction Management graduate with over four years experience in advisory and financial services. His experience includes business analysis, market and business research, feasibility study development, data analysis, project advisory and project management.

He has a background in construction and project management.

Thabiso Thebe CA (SA) is a BCom Financial Management; BCompt in Accounting Sciences and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting graduate. He has also completed a Post Graduate Program in Business Analysis and Data Analytics with Texas McComb University.

He has over 5 years work experience within financial services. His experience includes market and business research, financial management, full accounting, and tax function, limited external auditing. He also has a strong sales and customer services background.

Leonard Mashayamombe [CA(SA), BAccSci, HDipAcc, CFA L1] has 4 years’ experience in financial services. His experience includes business analysis, market and business research, data analysis, financial modelling, financial management, assurance, and risk management.

Keagile Kubayi has over six years experience in support services in various industries. She is currently a Personal Assistant on the Mahlako team, assisting with all administration tasks.

Ayanda Nkomo is a BEng Electrical Engineering graduate with experience in coordinating project activities. Her experience includes project planning, project management, strategic planning and contract management.
